EDIT AI 2026 High School Summer Research Program: Apply to the summer program here!
The Emerging Diagnostic and Investigative Technologies (EDIT) AI High School Program, jointly supported by the Dartmouth Cancer Center, Dartmouth Health and the Cedars-Sinai Cancer Center CRTEC, provides high school and undergraduate students with hands-on research experience at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cancer medicine. Students learn to work with real clinical research datasets—including whole-slide pathology images, clinical text, genomic and multi-omics data—using Python, R, and high-performance computing while gaining exposure to machine learning, digital pathology, and biomedical data science. Through guided projects, seminars, mentorship, and IRB-approved basic research activities, participants develop computational skills, contribute to team-based scientific investigations, and present their work through abstracts, posters, or manuscripts, with opportunities to support peer-reviewed publications. Applicants should have interest in computer science or biomedical research, basic programming familiarity, and enthusiasm for applying AI to improve human health. Examples of past student projects can be found at: https://edit-ai-program.github.io/edit-ai-internship/Conferences/.
